Research
A/Prof Gupta is respected as a key thought and opinion leader in areas of pigmentary disorders of the skin, infectious diseases and immune-mediated chronic diseases in dermatology.
She delivers invited lectures at local, national and international forums in her areas of expertise. She also serves on Advisory Boards, Scientific Advisory Committees and other forums with expert peers.
Dr. Gupta publishes regularly in national and international journals and serves on the Editorial Board of the Australasian Journal of Dermatology (AJD). In addition, she acts as a reviewer for national and international journals in her areas of expertise.
She has an emerging interest in patient-reported outcome measures and the socio-cultural impact of skin diseases.
Dr. Gupta is committed to identifying and addressing disparities and disadvantages in health care.
She is passionate about dermatology teaching and training. She sees herself as a clinician first and foremost, but also an educator, administrator and researcher and - most importantly -a life long learner.
Dr Gupta was awarded the Certificate of Meritorious Service by the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2022 in recognition of her work.

Teaching and Education
A/Prof Gupta believes that teaching is the best form of learning.
She has been the NSW member of the Teaching Learning and Curriculum Committee, has been the Supervisor of Training at The Skin Hospital Darlinghurst and Liverpool Hospital and finally the Director of Training for NSW.
She endeavours to deliver education to the community, GP colleagues, dermatology trainees and shares knowledge with her colleagues constantly.
Supervises and mentors junior doctors and dermatology trainees and is known for her bedside teaching.
A/Prof Gupta recently contributed her expert commentary on chronic hand eczema in the latest Research Review Education series.
